Job Overview

We are looking for an In-House Legal Counsel who can partner closely with business, product, operations, compliance, HR, and leadership teams to manage day-to-day legal matters across the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced fintech environment and can balance legal risk with practical business outcomes. The person will play a key role in handling contracts, data privacy, regulatory coordination, intellectual property, and overall legal governance for the company.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts & Commercial Agreements

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage:Client agreements,Vendor agreements
• SaaS/platform agreements NDAs and Partnership/MoU agreements and Employment and consultant contract
• Maintain agreement repository and renewal tracking

Data Privacy & Regulatory

Support implementation and ongoing compliance with:

• DPDP Act &Data privacy frameworks
• Information security and confidentiality obligations
• Work closely with compliance and product teams on privacy-related matters
• Assist in responding to customer/legal due diligence questionnaires

Intellectual Property (IP)

• Support protection of company IP including trademarks, branding, product assets, and proprietary documentation
• Coordinate with external counsels for trademark filings, renewals, and IP-related matters
• Advise teams on IP usage, licensing, and risk mitigation

Legal Advisory & Risk Management

• Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders across departments
• Identify legal and contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Support policy drafting and internal legal documentation
• Coordinate with external law firms when required

Corporate & Governance Support

• Assist with corporate legal filings, notices, and documentation
• Support board/shareholder documentation where applicable
• Ensure legal documentation and records are maintained properly

What We’re Looking For

• LLB / LLM from a recognised institution
• 2–5 years of experience in legal roles, preferably in fintech, SaaS, banking, NBFC, or technology companies
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and data privacy laws
• Familiarity with DPDP and fintech regulatory ecosystem is preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Business-oriented mindset with practical problem-solving ability
• Exposure to RBI/regulatory ecosystem
• Experience working with startups or high-growth companies
